The CDC outlines a checklist which can be used as a tracking and assessment tool for parents & caregivers to utilize at 10 age points in order to help ensure a child is on track for meeting typical age appropriate developmental areas. The areas covered ensure a well rounded assessment of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language & physical development.

Utilizing these types of tools allows the user to be an informed advocate for the child, & often helps guide caregivers on the types of skills to make sure to reinforce with their child as they age up to the next assessment level.

The tool is easy to use (it’s a checklist!) and is a great resource to bring to well visits- to help guide discussions with the pediatrician on areas of concern.
